My photo
Welcome to my blog! Me and DH are 27. We met at the end of our senior year in High School and married three years later on June 25 2005. We have been TTC for over 3 years. Now we are expecting twins in June. I hope to encourage and be encouraged through our journey.

Update on the Nursery

Everything has been taped up. All the outlet covers have been removed and we are ready for paint.

We went to Lo.wes and Ho.me De.pot for paint. The picture doesn't do any of the colors justice. HD is on the right and L is on the left. L is cafe ole and is the color we are going with (even though in the picture it looks green). The one from HD has to much red in the brown. It isn't as red as the picture makes it.

My lovely hubby primed the walls yesterday. This weekend we (DH) will go get the color we chose and paint the room. Hopefully we can order furniture soon. With woods floors and being completely empty it is so hollow in there.

I did see a room the other day that I fell in love with. They had a chair rail (thinks that's what its called) around the bottom 1/3 of the wall. The top half was tan and the bottom was dark blue. The trim (chair rail) was white. DH asked if I wanted him to do it and I'm so torn. FYI- This is not the room I loved but it gives you an idea of the rail in the middle and two different colors.

If we don't do the two tone. Which I need to make my mind up ASAP we will do all tan. Suggestions???

  1. I personally have always loved chair rails with two tone, but I don't have that anywhere in my house. If your DH is willing to do it, I'd say go for it. Although the bottom picture is lovely, too.

And honestly, I have to tell you, after the babies come you will care very little. When we're pregnant its so important to us to have the perfect paint colour and the perfect furniture and the perfect bedding. We focus on it so much, because we're nesting and our babies are inside of us. But once they're out, that stuff doesn't matter as much. So try not to obsess over it TOO much. Because in about 20 weeks you will forget all about it. Although you will be happy you have a nice room, the exact decor won't matter as much as it does right now.

Oh boy I was the worst at making up my mind when it came to our room....and still having that problem with pretty much everything:) I would enlist someone who you know has great decorating taste and aske them then go with what they say...for me it was my sister n law:) But I do like the idea of two tone with the chair rail

  4. The chair rail is cute, but so much work! And will you like it once baby is older?

We're also planning on a tan nursery! Can't wait to see the finished product
