Movement??

I think I might have felt the babies move this weekend. Friday evening after dinner I felt this movement just below my belly button on the right side. It felt like being in water and someone waving the water by our skin but not touching you. Then Saturday I was helping DH's mom cook and I was leaned up against the counter and felt something similar but different right in front below my belly button.

I have read that women say it feels like gas but this felt nothing like gas. Does this sound like the babies or no? I'm not gonna be sad at all if it wasn't them I'm just wondering if it was. So honest opinion please.

FYI- I haven't felt anything since then.

  1. It didn't feel like that for me, but my good friend described her beginning feelings just like that. And she said it felt like when you see water flubbing (not a word) around in a glass.... but it felt like that IN her tummy. So it could very well be the babies!

It takes awhile before you're 100% sure that a movement is the baby. People always say "Oh, you'll know when it happens!" but it's not really like that. Or at least it wasn't for me. I started sort of feeling movement at 13 or 14 weeks I think, but it just slowly gets more frequent, and even though I was feeling a lot of movement by my u/s at about 20 weeks, it still wasn't "THAT'S THE BABY" movement. I know this sounds weird, but I would say around then "I think I feel him move a lot, because it's things I've never felt before, but I'm not 100% positive it's him... if I went to the u/s and found out he had died, I wouldn't NOT believe it because I'm feeling so much movement that HAS to be him."

I know that sounds weird that I used to say that. But its just because it takes awhile until you are 100% POSITIVE that it's the baby. Before then the babies just aren't strong enough for you to be totally sure.

  2. Wow, I have never heard of it feeling like being in water and someone moving around you, but that is about the most accurate description of the sensation (at least early on!) that I have ever heard of! I'd say it was definitely the babies. I was always waiting for the gas popping feeling, or the flutters, but it was never really like that until later. For me it felt like how you described, or like a little twitch, or flick from the inside.

I agree, it took a while of trying to figure out if it's the baby(/ies) or not, and you won't necessarily just know. But don't worry, with me I felt my son move, and then nothing for a few days, and then again, and then nothing for a few more days. Then all of a sudden it was All. The. Time. Most amazing thing ever.

  4. Mine felt something like that. It also felt like popcorn popping...but like popping twice and then stopping. I am pretty sure I felt him the first time around 15 weeks, but wasn't positive until 19 weeks. I bet with twins though you could expect to feel them sooner.
